The PADI Advanced Open Water course is designed to build confidence and expand your scuba skills in a series of Adventure Dives. With The Dive Gurus you can try different specialities while gaining experience under the supervision of your PADI instructor. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun with scuba diving.
Each Adventure Dive may be applied towards the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver Course. If you’ve already taken a speciality diver course, ask your instructor if you’ve earned credit for an Adventure Dive. Your path towards Advanced Open Water begins with the Deep and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dives, followed by three more dives of your choice from PADI’s selection of Adventure Dives.
During your Deep Adventure Dive, you will learn to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and teaches you to navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks, and time as references.
The remaining Adventure Dives can be as varied as your interests – ranging from photography to buoyancy control to fish identification to exploring wrecks and everything in between. There is a wide variety of dives to choose from to suit your interests in the underwater world!
